Fabric / Print Missing from Cin7 Order (Drop-Ship Not Set Up)
When a customer orders a product that includes a fabric or print (e.g. a foldable display or track), the fabric may not appear on the Cin7 sales order if it hasn't been set up as a separate non-inventory drop-ship product. This causes the purchase order to only show the hardware, with no way to raise a PO for the fabric.
Steps to Follow
Check the Cin7 sales order — if only the hardware is listed and the fabric or print is missing, the fabric product does not exist in Cin7 yet.
Go to Inventory → Products and search for an existing fabric product that was set up for a similar item (e.g. a fabric for a 1x2.4m lightbox). Open it.
Click Clone at the top of the product page to duplicate it.
Update the SKU to match the new fabric product (follow the existing SKU naming convention).
Update the Product Name to reflect the correct size or product type.
Confirm the product type is set to Non-Inventory.
Enable Always Drop Ship on the product.
Go to the Suppliers tab and confirm the supplier is set to either Blueprint or Vivad — these are the only two drop-ship fabric suppliers. You can change this at the purchase order level if needed.
Click Save.
Repeat for any other missing fabric sizes on the same order.
Go back to the sales order in Cin7. Click Add Item and search for the newly created fabric product.
Enter the correct quantity and confirm it is single-sided or double-sided as per the customer's order.
Click Authorize.
Proceed with the invoice and pick and pack as normal. The drop-ship purchase order for the fabric will be generated automatically.
Use Cases
A WooCommerce order comes through to Cin7 but the fabric or print line item is missing from the Cin7 sales order.
A new size or variant of a fabric display has been added to the website but the corresponding non-inventory fabric product hasn't been created in Cin7 yet.
A customer ordered a foldable display, track, or similar hardware-plus-fabric product and only the hardware appears in Cin7.
Notes
In WooCommerce, hardware and fabric are bundled — when a customer selects a frame, the fabric is automatically added as a separate line item and sent to Cin7. If the fabric SKU doesn't exist in Cin7, it simply won't appear on the order.
Fabric products in Cin7 must be set as Non-Inventory (we don't hold them in our warehouse) and Always Drop Ship (sent directly from the supplier to the customer).
The two drop-ship fabric suppliers are Blueprint and Vivad. The supplier can be changed at the purchase order level if the default is wrong.
This is not just a Cin7-side issue — the WooCommerce product also needs to be set up correctly so the fabric is sent through as a separate line item. If it keeps not appearing, check with the website developer (Ryner) to confirm the WooCommerce bundle is correctly configured for that product.
You can verify which fabrics exist in Cin7 by searching the product name or SKU in Inventory → Products. If only the hardware shows up, the fabric product is missing.
Once the fabric product is cloned and set up, future orders for the same product will automatically include it — you only need to do this once per size or variant.
