How to Create Reports in HubSpot

Explain how to create custom reports in HubSpot, choose the right report type, configure data sources, and add reports to dashboards.

Create a Report

Go to Reporting → Reports in HubSpot.
Click 'Create Report' in the upper right corner.
Choose a report type: Single Object (reports on one CRM object like Contacts, Deals, or Companies), Cross Object (reports across multiple CRM objects), or Funnel (tracks progression through stages).
Select the data source — choose the CRM object or activity you want to report on (e.g., Contacts, Deals, Email Activity).
Configure the report by selecting the properties (columns) you want to display and apply any filters to narrow down the data.
Choose a visualization type: table, bar chart, line chart, pie chart, or other available formats.
Click 'Save' and give the report a clear and descriptive name.
Optionally, click 'Add to Dashboard' to include the report in an existing or new dashboard.

Managing Reports

Go to Reporting → Reports to view all saved reports.
Hover over a report and click Actions to: Edit (modify filters or visualization), Clone (duplicate the report), Add to Dashboard, or Delete.

Notes

Reports can be built on a single CRM object or across multiple objects for more complex analysis.
Always give reports a clear and descriptive name so they are easy to find and identify.
Reports can be added to multiple dashboards.
Use filters to narrow down data to specific date ranges, owners, or pipeline stages.
Refer to the How to Create Custom Dashboards in HubSpot procedure for guidance on adding reports to dashboards.
