How Orders Are Synced to Cin7

Explains what happens automatically when an order is placed or its status changes, so staff know what to expect in Cin7 without needing to manually re-enter or push orders.

Steps to Follow

A customer places an order (or an order is created/edited on the products/components involved).
WAPI and WooSB add the product's components/package items to the order as their own line items, as described in 'Adding Components to a Product'.
Adding Components to a Product
The order, including those component line items, is sent to Cin7 automatically, regardless of the order's status.
In Cin7, each order line item is matched to a Cin7 product by SKU.
If a line item's SKU doesn't already exist as a product in Cin7, Cin7 creates that product automatically so the line can still be linked and processed.
From there the order proceeds through Cin7's normal fulfilment flow, authorization, then pick and pack, the same as any other Cin7 order.

Order status changes

If an order's status is changed to Cancelled, the matching order is voided from Cin7, it does not stay as a pending/cancelled record on the Cin7 side, it's set to void entirely.

Notes

WAPI (Woo Addon - Package Inclusions) is Ryner's in-house custom plugin that actually builds these component/package line items on the order. WooSB (WPC Product Bundles for WooCommerce) is a paid third-party plugin currently used to define bundle/package structures, and is planned to be phased out once bundle products are migrated to WAPI's own bundle handling, see 'Adding Components to a Product' for the full breakdown.
Because orders sync 'regardless of status', an order created as pending/on-hold still reaches Cin7 immediately, it isn't held back until payment or another status change.
SKU accuracy matters more here than usual, since Cin7 auto-creates a product for any unmatched SKU, a typo'd or placeholder SKU on a component line (see the components procedure) will cause Cin7 to create a junk product rather than failing loudly.
If an order's Cin7 sync seems wrong (missing lines, wrong quantities), check the component lines on the WooCommerce order first, since components are added before the Cin7 push, a component setup issue on the product will carry straight through to Cin7.
